  1. With apologies to Devin the LegalEagle, I think he is wrong. I don't think he can represent Nolan as he is clearly a participant in the crime. Please see: Evidence Code 956 EC – Exception [to the lawyer-client privilege]: Crime or fraud. (“There is no privilege under this article if the services of the lawyer were sought or obtained to enable or aid anyone to commit or plan to commit a crime or a fraud.”)
