Yes, Pete's being gay is a factor and one to take cognizance of (yes, one may end sentences with prepositions). The US has never elected a woman President. We've never elected an Asian as President. Kamala Harris is a ground-breaking candidate. We need a safety on the ticket to re-assure those that aren't thrilled with all the change, but don't want to see Trump destroy our country. Biden won because he was an old white guy. Unfortunately, he was too old a white guy. I think some like Sen. Mark Kelly is a great and solid choice. He comes from a swing state that he helped swing. He has prior military service. He was an astronaut. His wife, former Representative Gabby Giffords, was nearly killed in an assassination attempt. He is both a strong Second Amendment supporter AND pro reasonable gun controls. Harris-Kelly would be a strong ticket. Harris-Buttigieg would be great, but likely self-defeating. With so much at stake, stopping Trump is more important.
