What unchosen, positive, affirmative duties must free people accept so that they may be free in actual practice? But then would you be willing to kill, or sanction others to kill, all those who do not acquiesce to such duties? Given that mathematics is anarchistic in the sense of it consisting of rules without rulers/violence, and that all of Humanity's science and technology is totally dependent upon the truthfulness of mathematics, why can't Humanity be ruled at least as well. The internet is run by peer-to-peer server protocols without any central authority, which goes a long way to explain why it is so robust and works so well. What would an universal peer-to-peer social contract look like... and what might we all learn by trying to construct such?

  8. Godel's Essential Incompleteness Theorem only applies to axiomatic systems that describe what is true of infinite sets. Basically, there is no finite set of axioms that can encapsulate all the truthful statements that can be made about infinite sets. Which tells me that for the laws of physics to be consistent and complete,.. nothing in Physics is actually infinite: maybe this is why Physics is quantified rather than continuous.

  10. Humanity is a transcendence seeking species. But does transcendence require supernaturalism in order to be fully grounded? For any animal to perceive pain,.. must it be conscious?! And how does one get consciousness without any reference to supernaturalism?!
