+Clifton100 That's your bias. Probably comes from not watching Fox News and getting bombarded by propaganda from people who like to keep us like mushrooms. I'm pretty sure he's not saying Fox is perfect, but Fox gives information and view points which other networks will not. Things that are good to know. I have to reach out beyond Fox and the Network Media for facts. I use them as a jumping off point for my own research, because you can't go on what any of those tell you for all inclusive analysis. If someone can "lose you" with something like that, it's a good symptom of emotionally loaded bias. It's hard to see clearly with such bias allowed into our thought process.

+Mario V I don't agree with that, sounds like sarcasm though. Marriage is not a basic human right. Being with the people you want to be is, but marriage isn't required. I see no Constitutional or any intelligent basis for the Federal Government to even be involved in Marriages in the first place. Contractual Unions recognization should be mandated (not regulated) though from the Federal Government to situations involved in state and local government, as well as equal treatment. Not to individuals, to governmental activities. Not preferences, EQUAL. That is a question of equal treatment under the law. Changing the definition of Marriage? no. Forcing churches and businesses to recognize it? No.

+Herr Denker Actually, the guy looks at facts and analyses deeply. Outside the media buzz and academia. He's so right on, on what would actually work in this country and what has gone wrong. Larry is also pretty good on the Iraq War as well. We don't really get good information on it from most information sources as well as entertainment. We pretty much had to go in or shit would have gone really ugly. The UN treaties would not be worth a shit if they allowed them to be constantly ignored. We really should have taken out Saddam in the first place ... butt, hindsight. The aftermath would have gone different if Bush had not allowed the idiots to push policy and gone with his own experts who were the best and brightest in the world, despite the dishonest maligning they got for rank political purposes. Their records were roundly praised by media when he chose them, for a good reason. They were the best. An amazing team of great minds.

Hubris Bliss I'm sorry, but your take on Fox is outside of reality. What you've asserted of Fox really applies more accurately to the Networks and CNN. Some of what you've said is on Fox is on Fox, but that's cherry picking. There are other opinions given in almost every instance. Many of the anchors like Shep Smith are Democrats, and he's pretty biased for Democrats and against republicans. Greta is a democrat. Hannity is pretty far right, but he's reasonable if very prejudiced to the right and for Christianity. Fox News is so successful because they fill a void. A real void in substance as the available media turned to very biased left and filtered information to that ideology.

Too bad Larry Elder wasn't the first black president. He would have been a very good president probably. That would have been a great unifying thing. A bad thing for the Democrat party and the world wide regressive movement, but a great thing for the country.

Herr Denker I love it when low info people condescend lol. I've probably read and researched more than anyone you know, by many multiples. I followed both wars, all the shit in between, and I've been there. I also researched deep on a wide range of subjects for decades. I don't have an agenda but what is good for the people of the world, and the other stuff on earth. I have no motive to lie. I don't want to take anyone's property, or freedom. I don't like when people do that. The best environment for people to live in is advantage enough for me in this world. I'm not a huge Bush fan. He may have pulled some shit, but I haven't found evidence of it. Maybe he was complicit in 911 even, but I haven't found evidence of it. I know in detail what went down in Iraq. I know what went down in the UN, between Saddam and the UN and countries he bribed to back him and from documents found what plans were afoot. Maybe not everything, because I doubt everything was discovered. Larry Elder is a very smart man, and he's shooting strait on this. He's not one to open his face and say what he doesn't understand.

Sam Tan Fox does have it's biases. BUT the problem for more purely propaganda purposed networks, colleges, showbuiz generally, is Fox's information they don't wish to be seen, and Fox's diversity of opinion presented. Fox has been demonized. The message? Don't watch Fox O_O. A message consistent with wanting to expand the universe of information would be, watch, but challenge the information. That's not what Democrats do, or the Progressive Networks. There are things they (and many times Fox too) don't want people to think about.

+HJ GE Larry didn't deny there is racism. He's black, he knows from experience. He's surely not pro racism. He wants black people to do well, as well as everyone else. That requires accurately assessing the real problems, which he acknowledges and identifies. You won't see him on Network shows, ever, or CNN. They have a bias for a narrative. A narrative which is a huge part of the real SYSTEMIC problem. If you note how Larry Approached Dave's assertion of racism in the US, he asked him for instances. Dave couldn't really name instances of systemic racism. Larry also went on to describe the base of the problem and the moment of it's implementation by government, and the implications. I think if you spoke to him about it face to face it would be hard to prove what you believe, because it doesn't really seem to be based on fact, but a consensus of what fact is, which isn't correct. Our paradigms are powerful, and often lead us off from what is really true. If one can't pick out a point made and demonstrate how it's not correct, that's when we need to examine our own basis for our own opinions because they could be off. Founded on unsound foundation. We human type beings are very susceptible to this because of how our minds, brains, function to give us a version of reality that's decomplicated enough for us to process in a usable way.

A Skeptical Human I came to the conclusion they couldn't be trusted by watching them all lie a lot. We don't have media, we have propaganda. You have to vet it all yourself or you won't get much grip on reality. Much info is out there, it's just misarranged. Other stuff is buried deep even by networks according to the way they want to share perception and it takes a lot of digging. I don't rely on Chomsky for a good perspective, but he does use a lot of good facts to make his cases. He's selective, much as media but much more directed to a specific theme.

That was in the 60s. Most black people were republican. Replublicans didn't change their view of equality being the way that was best. Democrats shifted from hating black people to loving the ones who were voting for their guys ... as long as they were voting for their guys. The ones who dare to step out? HJ GE I don't think Dave is very weak on these issues. It's just hard to approach factually from the Democrat position. Can you do better than Dave in identifying systemic racism? Can you do better than Larry in identifying the actual cause of problems and less affluence in black communities? It's not a problem in republican black people who live outside the groups of dependent black people. There isn't a higher crime rate in black people outside of these situations. It's not racism as I think you're defining it which is the systemic and significant problem. It seems you've been trained that it has to be. I think you need to reexamine that closely. It's not real in any wide way that influences whole groups. There is actually more racism in those regressive black communities than white on black racism. Sure, there are some horrible racist whities our there. I've verbally and physically fought some. I have brown kids. I'm not all white, but look it. How do you think I feel about real racism? I've flirted with very real and long jail terms over fighting it. Risked death in a very real way. Do you think Larry, or I would apologize for real damaging racism? No fucking way. I've considered this deeply, very deeply. I can see Larry has. I've considered many things, and I can see Larry has. I care about people deeply, as I can see Larry does or he wouldn't have taken the time to do such analysis and a road which isn't the best financial road for him. I hope you can do the same. Challenge your paradigms on this. See if you can answer the questions Larry asked and prove them up by real data and not just rhetorically.

JFK was against equal rights, until he shifted and sided with republicans. Democrats were so angry at JFK for flipping, they had angry marches in the streets over it. It passed with almost 100% republican support and enough democrats to make it. Johnson couldn't defy JFK's wishes, he'd become so popular it would have been political suicide. It's bullshit. Compelling only if you don't have any other references to the history. There is no decent information that Republicans became racist as a party. Dave is attempting to discuss honestly, rather than have a debate where 2 sides advocate in less than intellectually honest form which accomplishes little to nothing. I do think Larry was wanting to get points across and did kind of run over Dave often, but Dave was interviewing Larry, not having a debate. Larry also isn't used to being treated decently and listened to. It seems that came out. I'd actually love to see them get into the nits and grits of the subject over a few beers, and really lay it all out. It seems you're skipping over some of Larry's very well backed theories on this, which are not just one possibility. It's something that's actually happened. Did it cause what problems we now see? It's not provable, but it is very consistent with science if anthropological behavior, which also has much in common with behavior of other complex life forms and even less complex life forms. Did Black people have high crime rates before the 60s? No, no they did not. Did they have high incidents of the common denominator statistically in high crime and jail time? No, no they did not. So was this caused by the effects of slavery? umm, no, probably not, though I'm sure it left the group susceptible. Every group in the world almost has a history of slavery. In Jews the whole fucking race was enslaved. Black people in Africa were enslaved by other black people, and Muslims and Muslims were enslaved as Jews, their ancestry. Is slavery 150 years ago the cause? No, probably not. Racism which was pervasive over a generation ago? Well that had been going on since slavery and it didn't cause the problems we see after the "help" black people were targeted with. Cause and Effect is pretty strong with the Larry one on this. Don't you think? If you take a scientific approach to this thing, Larry hits it on the most likely causes to the problems we see. The denying racism being racism is circular logic. It's a thing being pushed around by dirt bags who need there to be racism because it pays so fucking well! Selling out the black people has made Jackson, Sharpton and many others millionaires. One of the worst problems black people have is the resentment and the anger that eats at the soul, which is manufactured for the very purpose of keeping them down in a dependent isolated alienated voting block ... it's sort of like slavery. Democrats historically have fed on the type of shit.

HJ GE Smart insightful valuable stuff there. I do disagree with "the because of slavery" thing though. There has been a fire wall between slavery and the problems of social degradation which was almost surely created by programs pushing dependency, AND pushing black men from families. Many black people were never enslaved and many white people came to the Americas as slaves. I have a relative from Scotland who was indentured and that's how it all was before slavery was made permanent because of a law suit ... happens that a black former slave brought the suit, and the basis was economic prosperity ... kinda like Sanders justification for theft. Progressives have shit all over and erased history to a great extent. Lexington Concord, shot heard round the world ... was completely made up from a congregation with a black minister and close to equally divided white and black men. Is that in history class? Hell no it's not, and it should be as well as much more in history which black people were equal to whites in, like one of Washington's most important guys was a black man, who was extremely important in winning the revolutionary war. History is rife with this kind of erased history on this and many subjects.
