Yes, National Socialists were fascists. But I have two problems with your argument. 1: Fascism (small f but it's the beginning of a sentence) asa term originated in Italy so before it there was nothing to compare it to. If you asked Mussolini what Fascism was he'd tell you it's a middle ground between laissez-faire capitalism and command economy planning. It's neither collectivist or egalitarian and individualistic. Simply put, it's its own thing. Nothing like it had come before it. 2: North Korea is objectively not communist. Small c vs uppercase C matters. But even with an uppercase C it doesn't match the definition. 3: The US is objectively a Capitalist nation. It is THE Capitalist nation, even more so than where the term originated (the UK) because we don't even have universal healthcare like Britain does. We have a semi regulated Capitalist market economy.

Property only makes ppl equally free if property is equally owned. Concentration of private property is exactly why vast inequality exists. "the cooler wisdom of an elite few". Thans Madison, for helping form the system we have today that is responsible for so much stagnation, poverty, inequality, superiority complexes and injustice.

Marx didn't advocate for the abolishment of non communist/socialist parties... He didn't believe in parties at all. What is the purpose of a political representative elected in government to make decisions for people when the working people themselves are making these decisions directly or indirectly through workers and community councils? How is that totalitarian? And if it is. Then good. I guess society should be totalitarian then. Because that's what is necessary to give power back to regular people's lives. Also, socialism is the transitionary state before communism. Socialism is the workers own the means of production while communism is the communal ownership of it. One is workers, rhe other is communities in their totality. So maybe it is totalitarian. But again, if that is your definition of totalitarian then we should all be totalitarians.

These comments actually give me hope. Socialism is the future. Because if it doesn't, there will be no future. I'm a socialist. But I'm also rather conservative. I don't mind hierarchies developing because like it or not they are inevitable, but I don't believe that hierarchies themselves are inherently valid or that people in charge of them deserve to be there. I'm also a materialist and functionalist. I care about things as they function and if it's practical or not. To me, socialism is more pragmatic. Capitalism destroys itself and has inherent contradictions as Marx described. I recognize the people need to have power over their lives for things to run smoothly. Can't run things in your life smoothly if you don't have power. Can't have power over your life if you don't have power over your labor contribution. Therefore, socialism.

I saw a rabbit in the thumbnail then I saw the bird. Never would have guessed it was a duck. However, initially I thought I was looking at was nothing at all. It was just an incoherent scribble. Then I thought it was a pair of scissors in a vase. My political views are heterodox though. Socialist on economics but conservative on social issues.

@pillmuncher67 I don't understand what being gay has to do with owning the means of production. These are completely separate issues. Should gay couples be able to adopt? Maybe, but prioritize heterosexual couples first. Should they be allowed to marry? No. Marriage is a union between man and woman for the purpose of community unification between their families for the sake of creating a new one. Can they cohabitate and sleep with whoever they want? Of course. Should kids be allowed to go on hormonal blockers? According to a recent John Hopkins study the answer would say "no". Should it be enforced that people have to affirm another individuals gender identity? No way. Should there be quotas for how many women are in the workplace or on the boards? Absolutely not. Is a woman's first priority to be a homemaker? Yes. Should they be prohibited from working? No. Should the government encourage family building and provide rental and food assistance to couples with children? Absolutely. Im conservative but I'm not a tradcon. I want what's functional but what is necessarily old and tried. There needs to be a new and improved conservative movement for the upcoming era.

@pillmuncher67 fun fact: your argument is a logical fallacy. Another fun fact, even if that were true, which it isn't, it doesn't matter. An even funnier fact, your argument is cliche and boring. They are not different. Gender is a word originating from the work generis aka general, generic, genre. It means "of the same kind, class, group". It was used so that prudish people even more so than myself, didn't have to say the dreaded S word that rhymes with Rex when discussing the topic. And if gender is separate from sex then why do transgender individuals need to undo or halt the development of their secondary sex characteristics? It's not secondary gender characteristics now it. You don't go on cross gender hormones do you? No. You are put on cross sec hormones. So again even if they were different, which they are not, it would still result in the argument being illogical because we don't determine society, sports, bathrooms, relationships etc based on gender but rather biology.

@rambo9199 we actually have. Primitive humans lived in proto communist societies and many religious and philosophical organizations throughout history exist in communist societies. Though these are not communist from a Marxian perspective based around surplus of goods in an industrial society where the proletariat own the means of production. Anarcho communism is rather common. On a large scale though it is simply not feasible. Communism or anarcho communism is unrealistic in my opinion.

@rambo9199 while it is true that Stalinism aka Marxist-Leninism (a term coined by Stalin) it is untrue that Marx invented the idea of communism. Peter Kropotkin, William Godwin, St Thomas Aquinas and others wrote and discussed communism long before Marx. Communal living, aka resources being owned communally and everyone receiving each according to the needs was indeed very common in the paleolithic era. It fits the definition that Marx himself used, proto communism. It's the earliest stage of human dialectics and their mode of production. Marx extensively wrote about it and Engles, as well as Kautsky followed on Marx's unfinished work.

@rambo9199 that's simply incorrect and hilariously so. Im not a communist mind you, I still believe in money and a class system, but the idea that communism means you aren't an individual anymore or that your person is owned by all is atrociously and factually wrong. You belong to none. Personal property is maintained, your house, your car, your tv, your kitchen wear, your clothes etc. Resources are owned collectively or are completely unowned and used at each individuals discretion. Marx was radically individualistic, far more than I am. From each according to their ability to each according to their need is proof of that. Private property, as in the exclusive ownership of resources and factories to accrue individual wealth is done away with.

Ummm. No dude, Capitalism did not abolish child labor and had it not been for increasing labor activism and union lobbying to government bodies it would still be around today. And no, child labor in the past was not similar to the labor endured in factories. Nor did most choose to move to the cities. They were forced too after the land they worked on was bought and privately owned by fledgling Capitalists and the support of government policies known as The Enclosure Acts.
