  2. Im a leftist in rhe sense that I care about workers rights and labor power. But culturally i cannot get behind the modern left, the progressive left. Im too conservative and too nationalist.

  3. Im a "Lefty", in the traditional sense. Old school labor advocate. My leftism is purely economic. Im not progressive on social issues and im not anti war like Jimmy, but i am against foreign interventionism 9/10. Im a nationalist, a left wing nationalist. Im also pretty conservative socially, though not for religious reasons. I want public investment into housing, welfare, healthcare etc. Not foreign aid, immigrants or subsidies to multinational corporations. And im not some bleeding hart liberal, i just recognize that in order to have a strong stable functioning nation you need strong stable functioning citizens.

  4. Its popular to talk about, that's for sure. Mostly because conservatives seem to believe anything anything left of free market fundamentalism is Marxism/communism. After awhile some ppl decided to do their own research and determined that Marx's criticism of capitalism and explanation of historical development as well as the role of technology on social chage, wad simply too accurate to flippantly ignore.

  6. Not really. MAGA doesn't want universal healthcare, they don't want to cut the ss income tax cap and they don't want to feed children school lunches. Jimmy does.

  7. But why is capitalism good if it exploits human nature? We're supposed to overcome our natural tendencies, that's the point of civilization.

  8. Or... and its just a thought, maybe ppl recognize that individualism is a cancer that makes society impossible. As it turns out, humans are a social species which require cooperation and collaboration to thrive.

  9. Well you said it. Bargaining. Socialism focuses on groups bargaining and collectively organizing to attain power for themselves. It often fails because the tent becomes too big and too many fellow groups ultimately can't coexist for long.

  10. You just described capitalism destroying everything you hold dear and controlling the world via monied interests/oligarchs. Yet you blame socialism... It was because of labor activism and socialists that the middle class ever existed.
