Sprawl is the least of Britainstans problems.

I do not support high density growth. Maybe for some people it's what they want but me? No thank you. I don't like people. I want to have my own yard and my own space. I crave the day I will have my own home that has a decent back yard so I can get away from being too close to other humans. Or at least it allows me to choose when I'm in closer proximity to them. Who cares if it's "boring" and cookie cutter? If you don't like it, don't live there. I don't want suburbs to be more dense and diverse. I want to move to the suburbs specifically because it won't be so dense and diverse. Stop trying to demand everyone live like it's a city. We moved out of the city for a reason. However, there should be marketplaces, small businesses, parks, community centers, etc that should be permitted in suburban neighborhoods.

What is "neighborhood change"? What if the neighbors who live there don't want change? You don't have the right to change it against their will. You seem to champion diversity. Many people don't. Accept that.

This further shows that there is too much red tape surrounding housing. It also proves that housing should be made not for private profit but according to need.

@danielkelly2210 change is rarely all that it's cracked up to be.

The concept of micodistricts is actually quite similar to co-housing communities. Duplexes or single family homes and bungalows surround a shared common space. Nearby there is a market square and row of necessary utilities and services. Im not at all a fan of dull, gray, monotastic architecture like in the Soviet Union and would much prefer a more decentralized, art based style influenced by local architects, planners and developers. Diversity of style would allow each neighborhood or district to be unique with its own inspirational influence. Pools, parks and recreation centers should be in most of not all of these districts and access to public transit alongside public roads separate from residential areas allow for a straight away to the majority of business activity. That is my opinion though. Everyone has their own view of how infrastructure ought to be designed.

And completely ruin living there in the process.
2
That's exactly what they want it's exactly why they should be stopped at all costs.

Now that's a good idea

@danielkelly2210 who cares about the free market? Housing should have everything to do with providing shelter and community, not whether property values are increasing on the market.

No. Not every neighborhood needs or even wants a corner store. Some people don't want commerce near their house. They don't want druggies and hooligans loitering around either. I'm not saying these can't be implemented into neighborhoods but do not under any circumstances believe for a moment that this needs to happen to all or even most neighborhoods. Because most neighbors will disagree with you.

We need to ban the creation of high rises.

Question, why do you think ADUs and FROGs are the answer? Because they aren't. Those attachments are meant for temporary stay for family members, personal use as extra space such as a "man cave" or renting out as an air BNB. They are not for permanent residential use.

I am impartial to banning drive thrus. I won't be angry if they do get banned but i wont be jumping for joy either. Personally, I'd rather we ban mobile orders and kiosks.

Why would you want apartment buildings in the suburbs? Get outta here with that shit.

@barryrobbins7694 that's not the gotcha you think it is. American Indians did not built the USA. They lived tribally in constant war with one another and lived like savages. However, people should not have to move for change. They can fight for it where they are at. But if where they are at isn't the suburbs, they should not be trying to change it.

72% of Europeans live in cities? That's horrible... No wonder they are creating sprawl, ppl wanna leave and move more to the countryside. Especially away from all the "cultural enrichment" Europe has been receiving.
