  1. I absolutely do expect the reason ppl follow particular religions is because it makes life easier for them and/or they are more in line with the customs of that religion already. That's exactly how it works. Few ppl join a religion because they acknowledge its the "one true religion" because if thats case, there would only be one religion. The fact there are so many suggests there is not a "true religion".

  2. The Nigerian has a great point in theory about the labor exploitation of the African ppl and the value created by the mining not going to them. But in reality without the British or Dutch, there would be no mines, there would be no technology, there would be no local usage of these minerals and resources. They had hundreds of thousands of years to utilize these resources on their land and never did. If an archaeological dig takes place in a neighborhood, does the discovery of said artifacts belong to the neighborhood? No.

  3. "Allow the Africans to develop themselves" but thats the problem. They can't develop themselves. They have proven they are incapable. Civilization never existed before the Europeans arrived. Heck, the "mohammedians" as they called them in this video, brought the wheel to Africa... When the Mohammedians left Africa (why they left is an evn more interesting story) did the wheel continue to be used for future purposes? Nope. It seemed to have vanished from history. Now all these years later after the colonial powers left, these countries and its various ppl are in ruins. Some, like Zimbabwe are completely dependent on the Chinese government to develop their wells, homes and infrastructure. Without foreign intervention whether from Europe, China or Arabia the ppl of Africa would still be messing around with stone age tools. Despite being the oldest ppls in history with more time on their hands to develop than any other ppl, they were still in a technologically old world when the Europeans arrived. The Europeans who had less time to create and yet were responsible for open sea exploration amongst a slew of other technologies. The various metal ages (copper, bronze, Iron) were all achieved by Europeans. The Africans were still using stone age tech. They are now using European tech and Chinese tech, but at a fraction of its capacity.

  5. But... They didn't and they currently do not. Their entire system used today is completely built in the apartheid period.

  6. And we are all old enough now to see and to know that actually, looking back, it definitely was a force for good. At least in comparison to what was left when they left.
