  4. The problem is not that we don't have enough housing, it's that housing which does exist isn't affordable. Community land trusts, rental and mortgage assistance, co-housing, tenants councils, union jobs, manufacturing brought back to the US, municipal and state built) owned housing, family assistance and incentive programs, restructuring zoning laws to allow for more than single family homes, housing first laws, renovating old hotels and turning them into mixed income units, and housing cooperatives. All of these things or a handful from this list can and will benefit the economic impact of the housing market and the majority of everyday people. Oh, and institute a land value tax. And the guy mentioned immigrants. Increased immigration both legal and illegal results in higher demand which results in higher prices. So good job advocating for more of the problem.

Community land trusts, tenants councils, housing cooperatives, renovating old hotels for mixed income housing, a land value tax, pocket communities, repealing single family zoning laws, limiting immigration into the US, removing foreign investors who own land in the US, state and municipal housing.

  12.  @PosiP  some of those things are not votable but rather done outside the traditional political scope and done collectively by local organizations. Though the issue concerning zoning and land value taxes replacing property taxes obviously involve the government voting to change the laws.

The fact that you had to smuggle yourself in and literally hide your entire face and body proves how violent and barbaric it is. I mean I'm a relatively prudish person, I value modesty and regularly complain about how important stigmas once deemed necessary and how accountability for your behavior is diminished because of feminism and " wahmens liberation". But I'm a fan of modesty, not outright suppression. What is modesty? Moderation if the self, balance, absence of either vice whether it be overindulgence or negligence. This here is negligent.

  19. Whenever there is a chance for profit, no matter the ethics behind it, a market for that demand will open. That's why the free market doesn't work. And by that I mean it doesn't work for people. Otherwise, the need to smuggle someone and the need to flee your home wouldn't exist.

  21. Every side here is hypocritical. The Trump supporters support cops but then attack them when they decide the cops are "liberal defenders". At the same time, i dont wanna hear any left leaning person talk about how attacking a cop is abhorrent when our (im Left btw) ideology is cops are built on an oppressive system and are acting in self defense against a monopoly of violence. For gods sake, BLM fought cops and no one except conservatives were outraged by it which again shows both sides hypocrisy. The people who protest police brutality are championed as civil rights activists by the MSM. Conservative media goes after the protests and calls everyone "antifa sympathizers" and then come out in droves to protect businesses. Then they go and attack, destroy and illegally enter a restricted building. However, the Trump supporters did not set DC on fire and did not target random private businesses unrelated to this systems corruption. They targeted the Capitol, a completely justified thing to do, sadly, their reasoning for doing it was flawed and actively went against democracy. If Democrat voters had done in an alternate universe where Biden lost, the conservatives and Trump supporters would be losing their minds and not allowing for any nuance to this situation, which ironically is how every liberal and left leaning political commentator and media outlet have responded. No one here "better" or "right" more so than their opponents. Trump supporters are and always have been gullible fools. But lets not act like there isnt any blatant hypocrisy going on among liberal media.
