@laur131306 the problem is, we all sell our labor for a wage. And that's ironically why some leftists are opposed to the ban or shaming or sx work. It is ironic though considering that socialism in particular is all about ending that exploitive relationship between laborer and owner. There is term for this btw, commodity fetishism. When people view themselves and others as nothing more than goods and utilities who's value is derived from their ability to sell themselves, their labor, their talents etc. We are reduced to commodities no different than the products made in a factory and discarded no different than a frozen meal when we are no longer of use value. Marx himself was vehemently opposed to sx work and found it degrading and yet another way to destroy the human value individuals, in this case wmen, have.
Men who are low income for instance and who can't afford their education, don't have the ability to sell photos of themselves online for people to get off to. Womn don't need to pay for something they can get for free whenever they want. Men on the other hand are typically only seen by womn as valuable to them or worthy as a boyfriend/husband when they are of a certain status and have a certain level of resource security. Hypergamy is real thing. And when this occurs at a large scale, polygamy becomes increasingly popular, where a few men have all the gurls cause they have all the benefits from Capitalism; resources, affluence, influence, status etc. The remaining guys are left alone and neglected of affection leading to a masculinity crisis and an increase in violent crime. Men who don't have stable relationships are 10 times for likely to take risky behaviors and act out impulsively. We need a better economic model that ensures at minimum, a basic safety net is provided and at most, private property is abolished and owned socially. Before anyone gets confused, this does not mean your toothbrush, car, house, kitchen utensils, tv, computer or any personal items you use for daily life. Private property refers to property used in the production process, factories, land, machines, etc. You own your phone but those who made the phone or work at the factory that made your phone do not have any right or ownership over the production of that phone and all the others like it. That the difference.
I'm an old school labor boy. Unions, universal healthcare, paid family leave, decommodification of the housing market... That's what I stand for. It liberates people from being owned and dependent on private Capitalists. Landlords, primarily rhe big ones on talking about, make their wealth via passive income extractions via rent. They don't produce anything. They make money off the producers who are forced to pay these people money to remain sheltered. We end that, less men would be lonely and more couples would come together. This is on top of culturally shunning behaviors that are deemed dysfunctional, exploitive or objectifying.

Question: "why are you so angry?"
Answer: because I'm constantly told I have mass amounts of privilege yet haven't seen or felt any of them. I was homeless for 4.5 years (as many men are as compared to wahmen), I now have a trailer that is way overpriced but is all that is available and partly paid for with assistance from local government aid, I don't have WIFI or a computer, my phone is cheap and cannot handle recording videos which is what I want to do, I want to be a streamer and I really felt the same as that hotel employee because we are both disabled and have issues holding down work. I am alone and single and I see that the behavior most people, most wahmen are partaking in is behavior like what we see on these streams. This culture we live in now is so selfish and irresponsible that it creates it's own villains and blames those people for fighting against all of this crap. I'm angry because I can't respect someone who doesn't respect themselves or anyone else yet demands they receive respect and approval despite it all. I'm angry because I'm not the only one suffering, millions are yet no one cares and no one wants to do anything about it because it's not profitable and does not fit into their woke progressive narrative. I am by no means a Right winger, not by any stretch of the imagination. But I'm sick of people constantly acting as if they are superior to others when at the same time they shame men for supposedly being "superior" or "systemically benefiting" from the world. I'm angry at the double standards, the hypocrisy and the never ending irony of all this. The degradation of moral fiber and objectivity in the world, the constant whining about meaningless things yet the dismissal of issues that matter. In angry that I've lost hope for society because society has given up on it's people, on its priorities to them and to the stability and freedom we are supposed to want to have. And I'm angry that so many are willingly leading us down a path to destruction and that most who oppose publicly all if this crap are just as partisan, subjective, wrong, foolish and corrupt as their opposition. I hate that moderation, balance and the need to understand what that is has been long forgotten and in fact rejected.

Ironically those on the Left hate woke capitalism too because its all symbolism and theater. These corporations wont likely give better benefits, higher wages, have their employees gain through a company stake, provide better workplace standards etc. And god forbid the workers want some workplace democracy, that's socialism so we cant have it. These capitalist goons will gladly shift and embrace cultural norms because their environment wont change, they will still have yachts, mansions, days free to golf and party, etc.
Its liberal progressives and fake populist leftists who are woke and support what's called "rainbow capitalism", not classical leftists who focus on class solidarity, struggle and dialectics. One side wants to diversify the ruling class, the other wants to abolish (or at least minimize) class stratification entirely. Two completely different modes of thinking. Sadly, the performative and aesthetic viewpoint of political correctness and wokeism has surpassed traditional leftist thought and theory because old school anything is considered "outdated". However, new does not mean best. And sadly, their emphasis on new group identity politics in the form of intersectionality has divided the proletariat rather than unified them and not only that but it has led to a further resistance to class consciousness not only from the conservative rust belt and bible belt Americans but also the very progressive humanist champions they aspire to bring into the movement. "Religion is the opium of the masses" as Marx said, and i think it would be a shame that yet again his name and vision are being used to push things he himself would likely be opposed to considering he was a strict materialist who believed science and objective reality explained or could explain everything and that ideas were products of our material condition not the other way around. The post modern fools are not Marxists since they often refer to class struggle and the need for solidarity and fraternity among the working people as "class reductionst" meaning they dont want to hear how genuine Marxist theory doesn't align with their own.
Anyway, thanks for reading ladies and gents. As always; your favorite rebellious Marxist, Rex.

Steve Rogers still believes in the American Dream, its the people who have realized its just that, a dream, because you'd have to be asleep to believe in it. And most comic book writers were typically Left leaning anyway, most villains like Lex Luthor, Doctor Doom and Red Skull especially being depicted as corrupt rich people and authoritarian Right wingers. The only Left leaning villain i can think of is Magneto. The problem is, progressives are that one lie. They lie about almost everything, such as conservatives being German mustache supporters and biology not mattering. But its also a dream aka not reality for many people in this country to have that white picket fence which to them is a gate preventing them from a more secure and free life. That's not up for debate unless you disagree with the notion that outsourcing jobs is rampant, that most families cant afford to live off one income alone anymore, that most people put off family or break off from the family because of economic precarity and the stress that comes with it, or that wages have not kept up with the price of living or productivity. All of these things i just listed are not opinions or interpretations of reality, they are the reality, if you disagree with that then you're blatantly wrong.
So its not that Cap stopped believing in it, its that he realized America doesn't believe in it. Instead, illegal immigrants get endless breaks and privileges citizens deserve and likely dont get or fight hard to get. Instead, tech companies censor our speech and place us in boxes, track our locations and interests. Instead, millions of people go hungry and hundreds of thousands (more now) become homeless. Instead, small businesses close and big businesses get endless assistance. Instead, corporations spend millions to prevent their workers from unionizing (something clearly and historically American) instead of providing better conditions, benefits and wages. Instead of owning our own homes we rent because we cant afford the mortgage.
I don't hate America, i hate the government's refusal to help Americans and its refusal to stop taking lobbyist money which perpetuates the system that leaves millions in poverty. 40-45% of America lives on 40 thousand dollars or less, 70% lives paycheck to paycheck, the bottom 80% own 5% of the wealth. If you dont think that is unfair, dysfunctional, exploitive and needs to be fixed then you're the problem. Too many people see themselves as temporarily displaced millionaires and so they defend the very conditions keeping them from becoming freer and more secure. Jeremy is correct, the majority of people are poor in this country, many of them conservative voters, so why not change the system so it benefits the majority of people and not the small group at the top? Most people don't have the opportunities because they cannot afford them. How is fighting for that change unpatriotic?

Right but if he was poor you'd just complain about him being jealous of others wealth... Not to mention prices over there are expensive anyway. Hasan has regularly turned down ways to make more money via passive income even though he could. And socialism doesn't want people to go without homes, decent homes. They want everyone to be housed and be housed in domiciles necessary to their needs. He knows he's privileged. He doesn't think it's millions with better talents rhan he live in squalor.
Me and Hasan disagree on many issues, particularly social issues. But this outrage at him buying a house, with a loan he took out to do so, so he and his family can have decent space to themselves, is rather ridiculous. Its true, he could have chosen another house. But does it really matter? Socialism doesn't want people to live in horrible housing conditions and it doesn't believe in rent. So homeownership is important.
I'm a socialist, I'm not apologizing for recognizing how Capitalism works. Socialism is about the workers and the community owning property, aka land and factories, not homes. That's personal property, like your car or tv. It doesn't contribute to production.

The mainstream progressive left is not the same thing as the old school labor left. The class analysis types who focus on material conditions and the inherent contributions of Capitalism and it's alienating and exploitive aspects that are done by design, those types of lefties... They are the majority but are too afraid to push back against the mainstream ideology adopted by the neoliberal lobbyists. And there is a reason these Capitalist loving liberals don't mind capitulating to cultural issues, it's because it doesn't hurt their bottom line and doesn't threaten the structure they benefit from.
Leftists, actual leftists, don't want a system with a different shade of flesh, different gender identity, etc. They don't want blak businesses or t-rans CEOs, they don't want private ownership of capital or CEOs. They don't want gaye landlords, they want to end landlordship and make property socially owned.
Marx, who is not the only influence for socialists, was explicitly a materialist that rejected ideology and subjective opinion, he believed nature and science had objective attributes that determined reality. He even said, "never take a person at their word, for what is a word but a lie from someone's mouth not yet proven false?" That's not the exact quote but it's effectively what he said. Marx would not have agreed that there were infinite genders. He would say there are either two or none at all and that it doesn't matter because objective material conditions don't care about your perception of them.
