  5. The social contract is absolutely based in reality. You yourself explained how it is yet threw it away as if it didn't matter. Government is the highest of political aims to preserve and provide sovereignty for a ppl. We the members of that society have the ability to alter or abolish it for the betterment of said ppl. The government is above us as the sovereign because we as individuals cannot be sovereign without the state representing our needs.
