Let's be real, the reason this project failed was because of the ppl who resided there. Most residents did not take care of their homes and they were criminally inclined. Only certain ppl can create civil, stable societies. Most ppl destroy and undermine with some special groups of ppl actually being capable of producing and maintaining a functioning society. Those ppl were not abandoned... They were given thousands of units for housing, social gathering, proximity to jobs etc. you gave them a homes and they tore it apart from the inside. Thats not the fault of architectural planning or public housing, its the fault of the ppl we went out of our way to house.

Nope. You pay taxes every year on your property so the government which protects the land your property is on will and can continue to enforce your ability to keep that property. You want that property to be safe from theft and you want it to be in good condition that won't lead to harm down the road? Pay your taxes. Stop whining.

It's almost like it was the ppl and not the architecture that ruins neighborhoods. Though obviously ugly architecture should not be forgiven.

This is all the proof anyone should need that without government regulations, the free market would lead to the majority of ppl living in abject poverty.

@jimfinigan1681 I do not agree with this statement at all, it's completely fictional and completely misses the point. A basic standard of living should be guaranteed to all Americans. Full stop. Get on board, or get out. That being said, not all ppl are equal and certain groups are going to be less grateful and less productive due to a variety of factors including genetics. Some people are incapable of self-governance, however, other groups are.

@Brown_Skittle it protects all land (even private land) within its sovereign territory. Military defense, police enforcing private property rights etc. the government should not simply protect the property of the wealthy but rather ever member of its society. Currently only the wealthy who privately own the means production see that protection but that's not how it has to be.

It's sad that average working ppl care more about preserving fancy homes built for rich ppl more then the rich do.

Kings still had it better, even if the commodities and tech weren't as advanced.

Deciding not to give government assistance to families because a man lives in the home is extremely anti family, but also, extremely discriminatory towards men. Apparently men dont need or deserve financial assistance to provide for their family.
3
Exactly! Those homes to this day are still well maintained and still highly sought after.
3
Oh no! Ppl did what ppl have always done! God forbid.

@marjoriemorris5849 i don't disagree with that statement. But again, regardless of how unappealing the aesthetic might be, not all groups will treat their conditions the same way and some groups would work to improve upon it. You can't possibly say that isn't true.

Chucky cheese tokens with worthless exchange value, cookie cutter houses which are identical to one another, low wages and high rents, losing everything from housing to healthcare because you got fired, complete control over your life by your employer... Sounds like the US is a giant company town. Oh wait, thats just Capitalism.
2
Based on the images shown earlier in the video, I'd have to agree.
2
@nancyomalley6286 it did work in the UK. That is until they let in not British ppl.

We should bring this back.

What happens when you give nice things to the wrong ppl... Give a pile of bricks to a group of white men and they'll build you a house. Give a house to a group of blaq men and you'll have a pile of bricks.
1
This is absolutely a valid point. But the government creating programs that discouraged fathers sticking around that did not help one bit.
1
They had single family housing and yards beforehand... It becomes the slums because of the ppl living there. Sad to say but its true. It doesn't matter where you put trash, it will always make the surrounding area look and smell like garbage.
1
@tias.6675 but the ppl moved in there were supposed to have jobs... It was built near tons of job opportunities for a reason. It was expected that this location would be well suited for work because of its proximity to work nearby.
1
@BSIII financial assistance should primarily go to marriage couples. Some money should absolutely go to single mothers whose spouse either left them or she became widowed, but it should not be as much as a married couple with children.
1
@IreneSalmakis the mother doesn't deserve more when there is one less person in the home... The assistance going to a married couple should be more because it's expected that 1. The husband will use that money wisely to invest in his family. 2. That because he is a grown man, there is an extra mouth to feed and grown men require more calories and protein. 3. We should not incentivize single motherhood with financial benefits. But we can't leave them out in the cold either if an unfortunate circumstance arises.

They aren't Americans. They were given the option to return home and most did not as they knew living here would still be better than going back home to Africa.
1
Potentially. East Asians had a tendency in New York and San Fran to cause neighborhood fires.
1
It's never a problem in Asia or Europe... Why might that be? Could it be the ppl?

They probably mean the 50s
1
But the residents determine if the housing falls into disrepair. The residents make or break whether or not that area is desirable to live in.

So much for conserving the past and respecting traditional methods of doing things... America, you truly have no identity.

Outsourcing ruins everything.

If by company town you mean being a victim of Islamic conquest then sure.
1
No, further proof blaques f up everything the gov gives them.
1
@myu2k2 they don't have that mindset for no reason.. it's not a mindset at all just a recognition of the truth. A universal basic income and housing guarantees to all citizens would negate the majority of these problems overnight. Though the problematic culture of the AA community must not be understated...

Stop! Acknowledgement of facts and using deductive reasoning is hate speech!
