  7. Society is at a low point where even bread and circuses (aka fast food and movies) no longer serve as functioning distractions to protect the ruling class. This ironically is because the ruling class made even cheap food too expensive (and unbelievably unhealthy) and it's entertainment is no longer entertaining.

  8. The Untied States was built by west Germanic white European settlers, not the Amerindians. Which Amerindians btw? There were hundreds, potentially thousands of different warring tribes, none of which ever cultivated or created any ounce of civilization to speak of. Hence all the open, usable land expanded into during manifest destiny.
