  1. Socialists dont want to steal anyones money. they want to make sure those who work never have their value stolen by the unproductive capitalist class. This was an embarrassing video with an embarrassing understanding (i use that term loosely) of socialist economics... Taxes aren't socialist.

  3. None of these arguments proved anything. They went from Christianity is needed to religion is needed to build and maintain a civilization. So which is it? Only the Christian God can provide "morality" or religion itself provides it? Could it simply be that every distinct culture had its own mythological system to explain the world they lived in because the scientific method hadn't been discovered yet? Yes, id say so quite firmly. Could it also be that what we're really talking about is socially desirable and undesirable behaviors which are determined by a variety of factors including social cohesion, environmental conditions, historical development and self preservation? Yes, that seems more likely to be the case.

  9. I acknowledge completely that society is by definition a social endeavor and therefore the reality we live in is social. But whether or not this country was founded on Christian values is irrelevant.

  10. We are definitely never going to agree on the matter of religion. All religions are fictitious, some religions utilize real world concepts better than others for the sake of making sense of the world and how to organize society most effectively. Christianity certainly is proof that other already existing beliefs influenced and carry over into it from Judaism to various pagan belief systems incorporated. So no, it's not Christianity itself that alone prescribes these ideas. If an atheist values life its probably (though i cannot speak for all atheists) because they recognize life is finite and has millions of variables within it, so therefore they appreciate the time they have and wish to respect the time others have. That Golden Rule or categorical imperative explains why we respect others lives and want to improve them, because we want the same for ourselves and know we can't do it alone..
