  1. "a brutal history of conquest and colonization" nope, not even remotely. Colonization by the Spanish was the single greatest thing that could happen to Mexico. The Spanish ceding power back to the Mexicans was one of the worst things that could have happened.

  3. Many will point to the similarities between German immigrants then to immigrants now. But the end of the video describes precisely why it isn't the same. The German identity was not kept, they assimilated. They provided progress to the US, learned English and didn't fly their German flags in their new country.

  6. There were no "indigenous" Muslims in Spain. They were the descendants of invading conquerors who received the same treatment that they had done to the previous Christians hundreds of years prior. This is why I'm an atheist. There are no good sides or bad sides. Only sides that want power. Personally, I'm okay with people unifying under a religion, but do it on your own terms and within your own region. Don't force others to convert.
