  2. We are all waiting patiently to see when the Hungarians will kick Orban’s ass out of power, or when Hungary will be told to get out of European Union. There is no conciliatory position. In this game it is either one or the other option. We Europeans are getting fed up with the shenanigans of the man.

  3. We common European people can only understand Orban’s position is because of his corruption and possibly money he is getting from Russia. We cannot see any other reason. Maybe Orban is really a fascist and wants fascism to prevail.

  4.  @matracity3414  There is something puzzling about Hungary tendency to choose the wrong side, the defeated side. The XX Century is full of stories on that. Hungary was in the side that lost the WW 1. Hungary willingly joined Nazi Germany in the perpetration of the Holocaust as well as failed invasions of Soviet Union and Balkan countries. Hungary lost again. Under its Soviet masters, Hungary attempted a “democratic” uprising which was crashed by the Russian (Soviet) tanks entering Budapest. Once again, another defeat. After the end of the Soviet Union, Hungary was rewarded with freedom and inclusion in the democratic aspirations of the European Union without having to make much efforts for that, surely harvesting many benefits with that. Now Hungary is again restless and following the dark impulse of joining the losing side (the side that will surely lose once Putin’s fascism is defeated for good). What is the matter with Hungary? What explains this aspiration to swim against the tide and align itself with undemocratic authoritarian regimes?

  6. Hungary is the poorest country in the EU thanks to Orban disastrous control of the political field and his kleptocratic style of managing public affairs. Hungary could be in a much better position was not for his corruption. Get rid of him, Hungary.
