We can imagine that a society where merit is not relevant for growing up professionally, people become complacent and do just the necessary to carry on, as there are no real incentives for doing things better, because doing things better can also attract envy and jealousy, therefore can become dangerous. Such society will get stuck at lower levers of efficiency, innovation and productivity. And then will see the other countries progressing and developing and will be envious of them. Such nasty combination can lead to stupid wars.

By letting this microchips manufacturer go bankrupt signals that smuggling must be going on, otherwise the government would dump more money into the business to save it as it is vital for modern weapons.

Why the plane was diverted to cross the Caspian sea, a very risky option for a plane urgently in need to land?

These are the allies that buys American military hardware, and bring yearly billions to the coffers of US, bring jobs, snd revenues. Trump cannot buy or sell military hardware to Putin. With this argument, Trump may open his brain and understand what is at stake. Russia and Putin are liabilities for Trump and the US. Putin does not offer anything to America and Americans.

This is a favor the Ukrainians with the assistance of NATO is doing for the Russian people; helping them to get rid of those kleptocrats in power, specially the mafia boss on top. I heard, a family of a guy who dies in the front wins the equivalent of 3 years his salary. The government is trading 3 years of salary for 40 to 45 years of salaries in, even if poor, a productive normal life. This is a cruel bargain; cruelty disguised as “service for the mother land”. From an economic point of view, this destroys large sizes of the work force of the country, while the society as a whole gains nothing in return. When people treated like that wakes up, the anger must be huge.

  23. 5 - Ukraine shows to its allies that Russia threats are air balloons and Russia cannot do what it has been saying for nearly three years. Russia is a tiger without teeth and claws, and cannot stand a direct confrontation with NATO by any means. If it uses nuclear weapons, it will be incinerated, as its very weak air defenses cannot protect its most valuable economic assets, refineries, never mind the rest in face of a massive NATO attack. Putin wanted to prove to the Russians and the world how strong Russia was, but ended up demonstrating the opposite, how weak it is.
