  12. Another enjoyable video. I sit in my warm, cozy den (in north Georgia USA) and still shiver when your thermometer reads -5˚F. Your meals are always simple, yet tasty. Making homemade bread in the wood stove worked better than I could imagine. Hopefully, you can get the wood stove oven to fit. Good luck with all the renovations you have planned. It's a work in progress that will be fun to follow. Safe travels on the snow and ice.

I watch your channel for content. You picked a great campsite. I'm with you. Breakfast for dinner is one of my favorite meals. A bowl of grits topped with bacon and a couple of fried eggs with buttered toast and orange marmalade is as good as it gets! Plus, a strong cup of black coffee! I would think one of those fans that is heat-powered from the stovetop would help distribute the temperature more evenly? As far as canned meat goes, I like tuna. But my favorite is deviled ham because all I need is a little mayo and mustard to make a tasty sandwich. Those canned Vienna sausages also make for an easy sandwich with just mayo and mustard. Another toasty and tasty camping adventure! Enjoyed watching you have fun!

I can't imagine giving up my cup of strong black coffee for breakfast. While I prefer coffee, I could deal with hot tea with a dinner meal. Another enjoyable video. I can't recall how close your home is to your campsite but it must not be too far if you can do day trips. Being close by makes it convenient to go check on your tents and belongings.   51. Another fun video. They go by in a blink. I have always thought Canada and Cold were synonymous. I live in Georgia where summer heat is expected. Last week the highs were in the mid-90s. This week we are having a reprieve from the heat with rain and highs only in the mid-80s. Even then we'll be needing the AC. It's not just the heat. The humidity makes even 80˚ uncomfortable. That shed made all the difference in cleaning out your cabin. I think painting it is a good idea too. If you want to heat the inside, black paint is definitely the way to go. Hopefully, your next trip will be on the cooler side. You might want to get a bigger fan though! Until then...cheers. PS: Your meals are my kind of eats.

As I watched you struggle through the rock, I kept thinking "Where's the jackhammer?"" 🤔 But you managed with sweat, perseverance, and I imagine a few four-letter words. When it comes to steaks, ribeye is a favorite. But after I discovered flat iron steak, I was amazed at how tasty and tender they were. This is a steak when cooked properly can be cut with a fork. Maybe you will test those out and let us know what you think. Also, I think adding a pet will give enjoyment to you and the channel. Poodles are great "family" dogs. They are friendly, loyal, and playful. IMO, their best attribute is no shedding. And people who might be allergic to other dogs and cats have no allergic reactions to Poodles. I was also going to ask if one of those heat-powered stovetop fans would help distribute the heat until you started talking about how warm the tent was getting. You probably know this but Amazon sells a two-pack (1200 lumen) USB rechargeable set for about $20. That way you could just switch them out when the light dims and use your Jackey to recharge. I'm curious to know how thick the ice needs to be on that lake before it is safe to drive on? If I recall, there's no other access to your cabin except by boat. So a winter "road" is definitely convenient. As far as renovating the cabin goes, it will be interesting to learn if 60 days in government time is the same as 60 days on your calendar 🤔 You most likely won't start any outside work until the snow melts anyway. So now is the perfect time to work on those interior modifications. I'm looking forward to what you have planned.

  143. Great overnighter! That stew was amazing. Maybe the lake will be safe to cross soon. Can't believe how cold it was there. We're in the middle of Indian Summer. Today's high was 80˚F. Next week we're supposed to have highs in the low 50s and lows in the mid 20s to upper 30s. Not Canadian cold but pretty chilly for north Georgia USA.

I suppose that's like summertime for you 😉 I am curious why you don't use one of those heat-powered fans on top of the stove to disperse the heat in the tent? Lots of good eats on this trip. The steak and fries were mouth-watering for sure. Starting the snowmobile was a bit scary. Can't imagine having to walk back to your truck. Perhaps you are limited on the lumber you have on hand? But I think you'd be better off making the storage shed walls at least 7 feet in the front and 6 to 6.5 feet in the back. Headroom can be a premium. Looking forward to watching the week-to-week progress. Enjoy and be safe with all those power tools. Being alone means you have to stay accident-free!
