Daddy and daughter bonding! Doesn't get any better than that. You did a great job showing her what it's like living in the remote wilderness. It didn't take her long to get acclimated. You'll have to tell us if she wants to go back.

Relieved to hear that you are safe. Hope your home in the city escapes damage. Thanks for keeping us apprised of your situation. Stay safe!

What an awesome wintry video! As I sat in my warm den watching, I could actually feel the cold. I really enjoy living vicariously through your adventures.

Sorry to see the series come to an end 😉 But I know you will enjoy some rest and relaxation in a motel with NO mice and night beetles. Maybe you can show us what that accommodation is like 🤔 You were an inspiration to survive on your own for two weeks. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Take care and be safe. Hopefully the evacuation ends soon. BTW, that chili looked amazing!

An informative and fun video. Thanks for another enjoyable Sunday video.

The GoPro works for me! That light really helped when it got dark. Maybe it was just me but I really couldn't tell any difference in the quality of this video and your others. I watch your channel for content. You picked a great campsite. I'm with you. Breakfast for dinner is one of my favorite meals. A bowl of grits topped with bacon and a couple of fried eggs with buttered toast and orange marmalade is as good as it gets! Plus, a strong cup of black coffee! Safe travels and I'll see you again...real soon 😉

A very informative recap of your experience with those tents. Some fantastic drone shots too. And of course, all those stovetop meals! Bears and bison are fine as long as they keep their distance! Wishing you some fantastic winter camping in 2023. I know I'll enjoy watching you have fun.

Another video that highlighted your creativity and perseverance. That is going to be an awesome outhouse. It's going to be a welcome addition this winter. I know whatever comes next will be entertaining. All you need is some sweet-smelling plantings like honeysuckle for the upcoming Spring 😉

Looks like you had a little bit of snow😉 The outside/inside temperature difference is breathtaking. I would think one of those fans that is heat-powered from the stovetop would help distribute the temperature more evenly? As far as canned meat goes, I like tuna. But my favorite is deviled ham because all I need is a little mayo and mustard to make a tasty sandwich. Those canned Vienna sausages also make for an easy sandwich with just mayo and mustard. Another toasty and tasty camping adventure! Enjoyed watching you have fun!

You always capture the essence of winter camping. That stovetop meal is my kind of comfort food. As far as coffee vs tea, no contest. I can't imagine giving up my cup of strong black coffee for breakfast. While I prefer coffee, I could deal with hot tea with a dinner meal. Another enjoyable video. I'm always surprised at how fast they go by! Stay warm and be safe in those below-zero temps.

Looks like you've found a good wood splitter to keep your stoves stocked. It's always nice to share a meal and that chicken really looked tasty. Looking forward to your first warm weather video. Maybe your girlfriend will canoe in with you. Until next time, take care!

Another enjoyable video to watch you solve problems on the go. I always look forward to your Monday morning postings. But they go by so fast 😉

That ending was pretty climatic! Be safe and stay warm & dry!

I enjoy all your videos. Different is good. I was surprised that the mosquitos were out. Maybe I missed it but did you ever say what the overnight temp was? I could see your breath when you got up. That wood stove made for a cozy night and the Northern Lights were a treat to see. Keep the videos coming. BTW, no bears to worry about this trip?

Another fun video. They go by in a blink. I have always thought Canada and Cold were synonymous. I live in Georgia where summer heat is expected. Last week the highs were in the mid-90s. This week we are having a reprieve from the heat with rain and highs only in the mid-80s. Even then we'll be needing the AC. It's not just the heat. The humidity makes even 80˚ uncomfortable. That shed made all the difference in cleaning out your cabin. I think painting it is a good idea too. If you want to heat the inside, black paint is definitely the way to go. Hopefully, your next trip will be on the cooler side. You might want to get a bigger fan though! Until then...cheers. PS: Your meals are my kind of eats.

A great video of life (and geese hunting) in Labrador. It doesn't get any better than spending time with family. The smoked trout looked amazing. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to what comes next!

A pleasant Sunday surprise to see you back at the tent this early. Not so pleasant to find that your tent had been damaged by a bear. I can't help but wonder why the bear didn't break in? I can only assume there was no scent of food? You didn't say but I'm guessing you've been using that tent for several years. Seeing how the top canvas was shredding tells me it was time to replace the entire canvas. It is remarkable how well the tent held up considering how harsh the winter is. I'm looking forward to your next video to see what you decided to do. Thankfully, the bear didn't make a return visit. It's amazing how quick that lake freezes over. Stay safe. And I hope you are back...really soon 😉

Thanks for sharing. I could tell you were glad to be "home." A different look at life in Labrador was educational. Is that life style fading away? Safe travels going back to your home.

Can't beat a Wednesday video by Jay. You really accomplished a lot. Taking out the window and prepping the roof for the tile. The fascia looks great. When it comes to corned beef and potatoes, a couple of fried eggs on top would have been perfect! PS: Thanks for the longer video, too 😉

I would choose the cabin...hands down. But the tent would be a great way to start experiencing the NWT. I will say that I enjoy your stays at the tent. But watching you work at the cabin has been fun and educational. I call your "breakfast" beanie-weanie. I've been eating that for more years than you've been alive 😉 I add sauteed onions, a bit of brown sugar, some catsup and mustard to taste, a dash of cayenne, and bake in the oven. Simple and tasty comfort food for sure. When the music starts up I know your video is coming to an end. But it's always good to know that you'll be back "really soon."

Problem solving and progress one video at a time. Your enthusiasm is addictive. And that tree was a monster! You'll get heat from it twice. Once when you split it and again when you burn it!

Your videos fly by! It's a good thing you have a "nearby" neighbor to help in emergencies! I guess installing the new tent will be the theme of your next video. Be safe.

Now that's a lot of snow! That stove you're testing has your tent rocking. And those hot spam sandwiches brought back memories of my youth. It has been ages since I ate spam. The nice thing about spam is that it doesn't need to be refrigerated until opened and it will last at least a week. Of course in your case, you have a very large refrigerator this time of year 😉 There's something really serene about your campsite. I guess it's the fact that you are so isolated. You may have said in some of the videos I haven't watched if there are other campers nearby? Your videos are a testament to your love of the outdoors. I look forward to the next one.

Finally!!! Snow! That's a really nice setup with that tent and stove. Simple meals are the best. I've been drinking plain black coffee since my college days. It was just too much trouble dealing with cream/milk and sugar. And I agree with you. It's hard to beat the flavor of a strong cup of quality coffee once you get weaned from the cream and sugar. Looking forward to more winter camping videos.

Congrats on getting approval! Now that you are a full-time YouTuber, I expect you'll spend several days/nights on each visit working on the cabin projects. A great start with the storage shed. Perhaps you are limited on the lumber you have on hand? But I think you'd be better off making the storage shed walls at least 7 feet in the front and 6 to 6.5 feet in the back. Headroom can be a premium. Looking forward to watching the week-to-week progress. Enjoy and be safe with all those power tools. Being alone means you have to stay accident-free!
