Because they ARE CONVINCED they and they ALONE are ESPECIALLY 'special' out of all the people on the face of the earth. They're also convinced they're the only people who ever walked the earth who have been persecuted and brutalized. And that narrative has been absolute gold to avoid criticism and accountability for as far back as many of us have been alive. In fact ANY criticism of the agenda of Zionism is immediately met with the accusation of being Antisemitic.
