  1. My phone, which I'm perfectly happy with, has begun to bloat, indicating that the battery is swelling and on the verge of God-knows-what. These batteries have a limited lifespan, and then possibly those around the batteries have a limited lifespan as well. They're a bit like ticking bombs, but you don't know when or if they're going to go off. Gas cars pretty much never just self-ignite while sitting there. Why have something worth tens of thousands of dollars that can self-ignite, and then park it in your expensive home?

Speaking from the US, what I'd like to see happen next, if we're going to be realistic about vehicles, is the US should allow inexpensive ones like the Hilux to come into the country instead of forcing us into expensive vehicles (and expensive bank loans, now at higher interest rates). Domestic vehicles, especially pickups, tend to be huge in the US, and that's a consequence of a stupid "environmental" restriction - relating the proportions of the vehicle to emissions - that car makers can only adhere to if they make the vehicles enormous.

  3. If they fully revoke the EV subsidies, affecting the manufacturers, then the real price of EVs will be revealed to be DOUBLE the current price. This is why if you buy a brand new EV and for some reason need to replace the battery right away, you find out the battery replacement alone costs more than you just paid for the car. How is this possible? It's because there's a hidden subsidy to the EV manufacturers that comes from the taxpayers, again. You're already paying for half of the production cost of each EV, even if you never buy one yourself.

  6. A hybrid car makes sense to me, so long as the economics balance out, and that seems to typically be the case. But full electric EVs only make sense as inner city commuter cars, offsetting pollution to outside the city. As for motion sickness, I think it has always been the case that women get motion sickness more than men. Unless they're driving.
