  1. The only meaningful political divisions of the modern world have been the Revolutionaries who want to create a totalitarian state, and the Resistance to the Revolutionaries. This started with the French Revolution, was seen again in the Russian Revolution, and in other revolutions, like Mao's. You have the people who want a strong central (corrupt, brutal) government and those who oppose this.
