  2. The whole "colonization is bad" myth was invented by the communists, because they wanted to expand their empires to include the nations that were former colonies. They wanted the people to choose communism and fight against primarily British rule. It was an extension of the "Great Game" between the old Russian Empire and the British Empire, continuing under the USSR with a slightly different theme, but the same goal of expanding their own empire. The Soviets were imperialists themselves, as are the Chinese. Just because they went communist ... nothing really changed except the identity of the head of state. Stalin instead of the czar, and Mao instead of the emperor, and then the oligarchs picking a representative thereafter, like a Mafia boss.

  3. CHINA, actually, wants the Falklands. To me, that's the group that must be fended off the most. As for oil reserves, if Britain wants to keep hold of the islands, they need to exploit that oil resource and sell it to Argentina, with the idea that Argentina would refine it. Act cooperatively!
