  5. China's ambitions aren't limited to Taiwan. China uses Taiwan as a distraction. They are literally intending to take over everything. Their inaction on Taiwan convinces the world that they aren't truly a threat. That's the purpose of all the rhetoric. It's like the magician waving with one hand, while the other hand does something unseen.
