  1. It looks like they're using Tranq to replace religion. Marx called religion "the opiate of the people." But faith helps people through tough times, it gives them strength, it helps them stick together to accomplish difficult tasks. This drug doesn't do that. It weakens you, it separates you from others, and it puts you INTO tough times. Maybe instead of turning to drugs, it might be a better choice to turn to religion. Not saying a person has to become a wide-eyed zealot, just that people psychologically need some kind of grounding influence, a way to successfully carry the heavy load of life.
