Deaths are rare and it typically only happens in the context of an armed confrontation where the person isn't complying with police orders. Everyone truly has an interest in keeping abuse by police low, and bad officers pushed out. Nobody wants to live in a police state.

  7. I know we want things to be more fair, but looking at this in a positive way ... I do a lot of shopping at Costco and it's good for me to know they will stay open even if there's a zombie plague. I would think, however, that the workers might be conflicted about working a job where contagion is so prevalent.

  11. This is a great setting for a vigilante superhero ... a crime-ridden community deserted by the police as poverty increases due to the actions of the wealthy and corrupt political class. Unfortunately, it's not that great if you are a regular citizen in a real city like this one where crime, corruption, and absent police is your actual daily life.

  13. After the Democrats lost the Civil War, they formed the KKK to attack Republicans and allied African Americans. But they struggled to regain power. So they teamed up with populist labor, which is why they control labor to this day. Wilson won his election by joining the racist Democrats with populist labor and the Progressives. So when we talk about Progressives in Seattle, we're talking about that whole history. They increase taxes because they are buying labor votes.
