Sam Wilson is secretly the Super-Adaptoid. WB, after watching this film: "... We could have released Batgirl."

The showrunner for the Boys: "Go watch something else." Huh, where have I heard that attitude before? Normally the approach of someone who is trying to appeal to an audience and sell a product says, "Come watch our show! It's great!" But in this day of ESG and "the Message," we tend to hear show executives say, "Whatever. Watch it or don't. We really don't care. We already made our money."

Investors wrote the checks without paying any attention to the business plan. A stupid loss of money.

Disney is pretending they don't understand why their movies aren't selling. That's all that's happening. Disney: "Sorry, investors! We just don't get it. Did we have the wrong stars acting out our horrible stories? We're bringing back RDJ, so be sure to re-invest mightily!!!"

When I see discussion of food in a superhero story, I immediately conclude the writing is CRAP. Bad modern writers are repeatedly trying to "make it real," but are showing they don't know how to write heroic dialogue and can only write about trivia. Because that's what their real lives are about: trivial nonsense. So I'm expecting interesting visuals and CRAP writing.

Captain America will survive this controversy. The movie will not.

Marvel doesn't seem to have any good writers any more. It's like they're not even trying. It's not just the TV shows, but Black Widow was also poorly done. You must sever your olfactory nerve? Sorry, but even after severing your olfactory nerve, you still smell bad, Marvel.

The new rule: No one gets an award till they draw blood! Welcome to Thunderdome! ๐ค๐๐ค

You're way too nice to the celebrities. They're essentially the drunk drivers of politics.
3
Don't forget that CEOs like to run scams, and ESG was a huge investor SCAM. Companies working with ESG didn't need to SUCCEED, they just needed to put up MESSAGING in order to get money. And that's how the CEOs make their money. Once that cash cow is milked dry, the CEOs move on. Woke business is a SCAM, and ESG investment was a way to line up the rubes.

The based investor activism is what should happen, because the corrupt Disney producers have been taking investors for a ride and picking their pockets. However, the top investors in Disney are ESG clowns BlackRock and Vanguard. So the descent to the depths of hell will continue. ๐๐งบ

This is only partially true. As I've been saying for years now, what producers and executives are doing is they are scamming the investors. Look at the CW. They never made money as a business, but they lied about their young demographic and were able to continue sucking money out of investors into the hands of the producers. Same with Rings of Power and the crap Disney is producing. It's a SCAM. They want the costs to be high because they are skimming off the top, blaming the failures on the toxic audiences, and the investors have been naive suckers. Mel Brooks explored this phenomenon decades ago in "The Producers," where con artist producers create a musical doomed to fail, "Springtime for Hitler." It's a SCAM, people.
2
IMO, Gunn's out of ammo. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
2
Yup, Bucky was the right choice to be Cap. Which is why they couldn't do it.
2
The cheapest path to making a classic film? Write a great story. Most big budget films are literally scamming investors. It's "The Producers." As for pay, it should all be percentages. See? It didn't need all those words to lay it out.
2
Hopefully this turns Barbie dolls into the next Bud Light.
2
I love the Babylon Bee's idea: have all of the dwarves played by Ben Shapiro.
2
No, I don't believe it. I think they are simply reloading, lying to investors to get the investors to give them more money. It will be RDJ + communism.
2
It's hard to make a good superhero movie. I think when there's a successful one, they don't know what made it successful, and when there's a flop, they don't understand what made it flop.
2
This is how the left has always seen Star Wars and its potential. To them, this is great, much better than that other stuff.
2
Who is this movie for? It looks to me like it's simply a scam to get people producing the movie paid.
2
WB: "We made this film in order to get a tax break."
2
This is the kind of Potemkin villain and unstoppable heroes you get when the people have forgotten our real world struggles of human heroes against truly deadly and dedicated opponents. It's like the premise of LoTR, that people get satisfied and forget to be vigilant, which allows evil to take root once more.
2
Yes! Western civilization pretty much depends on the stoic hero. You "deconstruct" that, and what do you have? Nothing worth having, it turns out.
1
Yes, 2025 will be ANOTHER year of Marvel flops.
1
DC and WB: "This is the hill we decided to die on. Not Batgirl. That was a worse hill. I know you don't believe us, but ... yes, even worse than this hill of manure. We're currently pretending to go on with Gunn, but you know ... we're really just going to fold our tents and go home. We defeated ourselves."
1
What this is all leading to is a musical telling us how Mao was misunderstood.
1
Not really. Mostly Hollywood loses. As a consumer of entertainment, I have so many options, including books and hobbies. So if Hollywood isn't making good movies, they don't get my money, and it's purely their loss. I'm not losing a thing.
1
Straight to Disney+. I wonder if Shazam 2 will make more money? ๐ฉ
1
Nope, the humbling has not yet begun. Hopefully it's not far off, though.
1
DC, this is your future.
1
Oh, it's definitely destruction. That's the whole point ... deconstruct and destroy. Soon there will be nothing left. The proper ending to his arc should have been to make him King Thor. That would have retired him, basically, just like the other original Avengers.
1
We don't need heroes. But they can be interesting if well written.
1
The purpose is to deconstruct and destroy western society. It's part of China's war against the west. Once we finally get China's influence out of Hollywood (or if Hollywood goes broke), we might get some decent dramas and comedies again.
1
It's a Disney sitcom with a gamma radiation theme. That's all.
1
Seems like somebody in production got the movie off track thinking Kraven was Marvel's version of Tarzan. But he's not. That's Ka-Zar.
1
It's Amazon's latest "Springtime for Hitler." Someone among the producers is making bank, and the shareholders are getting a bowl of gruel. Meanwhile, the Amazon CEO looks the other way, and blames the "racist audience."
1
Indiana Jones is a trilogy. The rest is BS. As for Pennywise and Sesame Street, that works for me.
1
It seems like "they" really, really don't want little girls to know and think about the actual old story of Snow White.
1
It's the Eternal Inhumans. In other words, it's got the high quality of the Inhumans series, but it feels like it's Eternal, just grinding on and on. It's a fight against the white male patriarchy by creating a multiethnic alien matriarchy that does nothing but dance. That's the selling point. Weren't you waiting for that?
1
They did everything they could to prevent the Shang-Chi character from being interesting. Is that a Disney thing? Maybe he needed to sing an annoying song.
1
I share your pros and cons. But I tend to suspect that Dune is like Afghanistan ... nobody ever wins, there's just continual misfortune.
1
There's a part of the hero's tale where the establishment is evil. That's modern Disney.
1
I was EXTREMELY disappointed by the idiocy in the trailer. Not gonna watch it if it is a cruelly dumb writing job.
1
WB needs to realize they are done with superheroes for a bit. They need to focus on getting some base hits with basic films on other subjects. They're simply incapable of hitting a home run right now.
1
"Deconstructing" is destroying. They're fixated on destroying western culture.
1
The message of new movies: you are entitled to it, so take it.
1
Yes.
1
I wanted to see Black Widow after Iron Man 2. Definitely we should have had it in place of Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel was completely unnecessary for Endgame. Yes, they made pockets in the plot where they could insert her, but it all seemed like an afterthought. And it probably was. And the whole Captain Marvel thing shows us that they really don't know what they're doing or what makes the movies successful. So they're due for a spate of DCEU / X-Men type movies that don't really move the needle.
1
Executives for DC made the mistake of thinking they had to "catch up." They didn't. They needed to get solid base hits before hitting a home run. That's how you create a grand slam. Also, executives all over have swallowed the Scorsese drivel and scorn for comic book movies. The respect dropped to zero, and boy did it show. Furthermore, you shouldn't have an audience rejecting a movie because "it has no future." You should have them wanting to see each movie because it is going to be GREAT. The thing is, they're not making great movies.
