  1. Yes, US food has changed for the worse over the decades. My conclusion is that federal regulations are responsible for this, whereas in Europe, food regulations have done a better job of protecting food quality.

  2. I think in general business in the US no longer seeks to serve the public and they no longer see it as an honorable obligation to provide quality or a good price. All they do is strip mine corporations, ruin them, and glide away on platinum parachutes. It's a corporate raider ethic, not a business-building ethic.
