The way I see it, China wants two conditions beyond the present state before they will invade. 1) They want to neutralize Japan from within, so Japan doesn't support Taiwan. 2) They want Taiwan to be demoralized and divided, preferably with someone in Taiwan opening the gate to the city for China. Keep in mind that China recently strengthened their position in the Solomon Islands, the Philippines, and in Australia. So their only regional rivals are India in the west, and Japan in the east. Japan is thus the only real opponent at this point. Once the Chinese bribe enough Japanese officials to get them to stand down, then they will advance on Taiwan.

  5. How is Sweden going to fix their current problem? I think they need to send the immigrants away. Giving the immigrants more time is not going to help. Sweden would be much better off with truly Ukrainian immigrants, because the culture is similar.

  11. A migrant who is from any European culture is going to integrate with UK society much easier than a person from a completely different and antithetical culture. It doesn't matter what color their skin is, if they were raised as Europeans, they'll fit in better. For that matter, someone from the Americas or Australia would also find it easy to integrate, so long as they had been raised in western culture. So it doesn't matter what color or religion, but the culture of the person that they were raised with ... that may benefit or pose a problem. As for security issues ... war happening closer to home is nearly always more significant than a distant war. A big problem with "Ukrainian" refugees, BTW, is they aren't Ukrainian. They don't speak Ukrainian, and they aren't from that culture.

  17. I don't know what's going to happen in Europe. The history is just not that good, is it? And from what I hear, faith is not strong, so many people aren't willing to stand on moral principle but are instead looking to sell out for any small advantage. Best wishes, of course, and hopefully new energy sources get unlocked and the farmers win. Don't submit to tyranny!

  20. Well ... nothing explicitly wrong with having a United States of Europe, but which kind? The kind with the unrelenting federal power grab? Or the kind with the many sovereign states? The US was originally designed to link together sovereign states for benefits to defense and trade. Unfortunately, since the Wilson administration in the WW1 era, the US has embraced Progressive authoritarianism, and I suspect THIS is what the European leaders love. They loved it back when Wilson was alive, and it was very inspiring to certain WW2 leaders (not the good ones). IMO, the European countries ought to keep their own currencies. The Euro can exist as an additional currency. A key thing to keep in mind about Europe is that these nations were not so long ago trying to take over one another. I think there should be adequate firewalls in any European Union to prevent one state from dominating another.

Europe's need for foreign energy has resulted in so many wars, and so many innocent people around the world being killed, ground in the gears of international big money politics.
