So what is THIS journalist trying to make us believe? For one thing, he wants us to believe journalism is "sacred." It isn't. Journalism, as it is practiced, is either an attempt by an opposition to capture your intellect, or to entertain. It's always been this way. It's rarely sacred, but nearly always profane. It grew out of advertising and government propaganda.
