  1. No, the Haitian president was assassinated by the CCP / PLA, just like Abe in Japan. The CCP had offered him billions more in loans and presumably personal incentives than other countries, like DR, to give up support and recognition of Taiwan, but he refused. So the PLA put together a team of mercenaries who thought they were working for the CIA, as the goal was to blame the US for this killing. The president was killed with no problem, but there was no escape plan for the men who did the deed, because the idea was for them to be caught so they could confess their belief they were working for the CIA. They were led by their PLA handler to the Taiwan Embassy, which the PLA officer raided, and that's where they were abandoned, to be picked up by security forces.
