You wouldn't know that from the last few decades of left wing influence on Western education. Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Mao, and Castro all participated in imperial / colonial actions. One of the final acts of the USSR was to invade Afghanistan, to take it over and make it part of the Soviet empire.
