Meanwhile, as in the frog boiling story, the left is trying to raise the temperature slowly enough so that the frogs cook before they realize they need to take action. So there has to be enough heat that good, mature people respond, but if the heat is raised slowly over time, the good, mature people get slow cooked, like frogs in a pot.
