  3. I think you have a good mix of inside and outside shots. You should do what seems appropriate. As someone else noted about the church, maybe you can consider that a challenge, and keep asking to get into them. :) The main thing is to have some fun with it and be creative. Your feelings are part of what makes the story interesting. It's also good to hear about the challenges you face, and what sorts of things a person might encounter in Russia. Basically, IMO just keep doing what you're doing.

Which is why so many end up alone with a pet, because most people cannot stand to agree with so much delusion. Married men often resign themselves to it, but they're deeply unhappy.   11. Yup, that strategy of harassing supplies during the winter has been the goal this whole time, and this is a reason for why Ukraine waited till late in the summer before moving across the river. They spoke earlier of massive actions against Russia in the east because they wanted Russia's attention focused in the east. This winter, especially with the F-16s. could be pivotal for returning Crimea to Ukraine. The first step was attacking the southern bridge and then the northern bridge, complicating transfers of men and material in and out of Crimea, and then the attacks on shipping and anti-aircraft and missile defense units sealed the deal.

  15. To me, the main improvements appear to be incremental ones with the power train, with the safety sense, and the reduction of trims and models. The exteriors are just fine, and the interiors seem maybe somewhat degraded. I think it's cool that Toyota has made a little bit of a tech leap, eliminating non-hybrids, but if I was already focused on getting a RAV4 hybrid, the gains over last year are small.

  16. I would think that small, light, shallow boats - closer to baskets than hollowed trees - could potentially be used in winter as a type of sled, sledge, or sleigh, with or without runners. You could load it and then pull it with a rope. It could be used in marshy areas as well, and towed across grass or any level ground. Hunters could carry their kill in it, or gather firewood, carry supplies from place to place, etc.

  17. The French Revolution is still being fought. It's the spirit behind socialism. In the US, the Democrats and deep state are political and philosophical heirs of the French Revolution. Marx, Hegel, Bentham, Malthus, and other philosophers ... they were contemporary to the French Revolution, and their thought guides the left all over the world. The principles of the French Revolution began to overtake those of the American Revolution in the US during the administration of Wilson (D), and this is the beginning of socialism in the US. It's been around for 100 years and it needs to be reversed, because it has pulled the US into "forever wars," indoctrination of the people, and censorship for "your safety" over free speech.

BTW, when I visited China in 1986, there were relatively few concrete buildings. Nearly all homes were two story brick or mudbrick homes, and that was in the big cities. Families cooked and warmed themselves in winter by burning coal.

  26. @elvirabary  A key to cultural catch-up would be if the forward-leaning people who fled found it safe to return and did so. But at the moment I don't see that coming to pass, which would seem likely to prevent a catch-up. Now if central weakness were to result in another fragmentation into, say, six parts (random small number), with various groups like Chechnya and Kaliningrad gone, that could lead to growth toward sustainable freedom and prosperity, assuming the split results in people maintaining their contacts with individuals inside the core after leaving.

  27. I hope the new 4Runner front end resembles the Tundra. That's a great look. I'm not fond of that red interior. I would hope to get something more natural colored, like a terra cotta, shades of brown, or even some deeper shades of green. My inclination is toward the brown spectrum. I think Jeep has done some very appealing interior colors and design.
