  1. In general, a lot of Australian governments were proactive in their actions and restrictions when the virus first entered Australia. However, with the lower numbers then expected, they moved to being reactive, and way too slowly, thus now being in the situation where the virus appears to be well entrenched in Melbourne. I know it is painful, however i seriously suggest, that the most strongest restrictions such as stage 4 be introduced, to stop the virus in its tracks. A period of 4 weeks would see a substantial turnaround of current events. Anything other then this action, will lead to repetition after repetition of shutdowns, at a much higher cost to the state's and individual business economies. Additionally, we will see large increases in the death toll, two to three weeks after we see these large numbers.

  2.  Daisy Unchained  supermarkets will remain open, at all stages including stage 4. Unfortunately, people do not quarantine and/or still go to work, thus spreading the virus. I would also introduce the threat of involuntary manslaughter for those people knowingly spreading the virus, causing death. This would be a deterrent. About 1 in 4 people, in the knowledge that they have the virus, do not self isolate, until cleared of the virus. Enforcement is the only option!

  3.  Daisy Unchained  employee testing and checking must be made mandatory. The employer should have a list of employees either tested and positive, or awaiting results, or should have access to a database to be satisfied their employees are cleared to work.. Also temperature testing should be mandatory in the workplace.

Last year as per hospital and medical records, death certificates, flu deaths in the US was actually around 16,000, with many politicians estimating 50,000 to 60,000, being quoted without foundation. Government statements of 60,000 are far from the truth.
