  1. Some of these professors seem to have an agenda! Work on facts, not fiction. Australia still has its borders open to other nations, and should be very wary of people coming into the country. If an outbreak occurs, swift action can prevent widespread of the virus. Perhaps they could even learn from the chinese experience.

  3. Wrong assumptions, regardless of experience can create substantial differences in results, especially when dealing with a Novel Corona Virus, for which overall historical data is lacking. What i am basically saying is rubbish in, rubbish out. This is something that can bite you in the butt when it is all over, and full information is available. That is when credability is attained or destroyed.

  7. I can tell you here in China, we also have testing problems. Patients showing signs of this disease have been sent for CT scans, which show clear evidence of the virus, while tests are proving negative. Two patients were checked in Guangxi Province like this, in the last week. Following the CT scanning, they were again tested, and found to be positive. This demonstrates that the test is inconclusive, with the likelihood of many people slipping through the testing procedure.

  8. Do not underestimate China's ability to prevent mass infections, even with omicron. They handle it extremely well, having been through their mass testing. If infected people and/or close contacts are isolated or quarantined, community spread cannot continue, and will therefore cease after a few weeks. As far as totally opening to the world, as with all things pertaining to China, they are not in a rush and they will wait until it is safe. Remember, only one person in China died from the virus in 2021, and the governments attitude is that life is more important then money. Eventually the pandemic will be over, and China will again open fully. China is not officially closed, but maintains it's quarantine requirements for all arrivals from overseas.

  10. Stick to evidence based, and not assume ; eg x10, or x20, etc. Assumptions are almost always wrong, and can be very misleading.

  11. Today it came to my notice that the USA will only complete testing if a patient has a Wuhan connection. If a patient wants to be tested due to cough, high temperature, etc they cannot get tested for corona virus. What does this say about the US CDC?
