I live in Binyang, Guangxi and have been here for more then 5 years now. When you look at China, the good and the bad, you need to remember that there is a population of over 1.437 billion people here, and they are all different, all with their own needs and desires, etc., but foremost is that they are like people in any country in the world. That is a lot of people to maintain happy and secure, and for whom to provide social needs including hospitals, schools, etc, to their satisfaction.

According to Wikipedia the definition of Strategic Policy generally involves setting strategic goals, determining actions to achieve the goals, and mobilizing resources to execute the actions. So it is substantially apparent that this organisation is operating outside of its operating scope, which does not benefit the fabric of Australian society. It is substantially funded by the Australian Government, and also receives funding directly from the US State Department, and others. As a supposed think tank, to influence government policy, it is therefore operating illegally in terms of the new foreign interference laws, which should therefore be investigated by Australian authorities including the auditor general. The current report in respect to Xinjiang has little substance, and will not be subject to substantiation by site visits or follow up, and was concluded by junior staff reviewing satellite imagery and making unsubstantiated conclusions. I am an Australian living China, and am concerned about such foreign influence of Australian politics and policy, to the detriment of the Australian economy. This along with Australia requesting investigation of the origin of the virus, and its associated inferences, has brought about the retaliatory actions being taken by China in terms of trade.

Let it be remembered that this was about the actions of 14 rogue soldiers, and the investigation was instigated by the Australian government, with the results being made public. The actions of these rebel soldiers has been condemned by the Australian government, and by the whole Australian community. As a result these soldiers will be charged with war crimes. As for this satirical photo make-up, it may depict as an image of the actions of a rogue soldier, but this was not widespread. It should not be for someone of the standing of the foreign affairs office in Beijing to Tweet such images, without also giving acknowledgement to the Australian government for its follow up actions, and forfthcoming war crime trials. The image is tasteless and it's spread on Twitter, by such a senior official, very childish, not within the realms of foreign affairs behaviour.
I recall early this year that a Denmark artist had depicted a corona virus on the chinese flag on a cartoon, which repulsed the Chinese government. Perhaps there is an element of hypocrisy here!
