For those interested, most people i meet in China are happy with the current handling of the Covid Zero policy. However, the procedures, processes and policies are only as good as the state or city's government. Shenzhen for instance has handled outbreaks extremely well, and testing is quick and easy. Certainly, the use of the QR health code is exrremely helpful and works very well.

@MrRatclima people are more honest and open then you think, and discussion such as this is not banned, contrary to statements by mainstream media. It is the spreading of misinformation that is banned! I guess many of the news stories on Sky News would fall under that umbrella, lol. You're right, there is no criticism of the govt, but more due to public support, because life is more important to the govt then economics, unlike most western countries, including Australia.

It is easy to accuse, but difficult when asked for the evidence. And don't give me, Sky news said so. That would put you in the dumb and dumber category. @EricColeThornton i just arrived in Shenzhen at 2.30 pm today. Tested at the station and straight to metro train, arriving in Hongshan by 3 pm. That is very quick. Last time i was here in May, it took less then 15 minutes to get tested in this same area i am in now. I guess you probably lived in Nanshan area, where i know a few other people had some difficulty getting tested. So it appears to be some localities. Sorry to hear you leaving a well paid job, but perhaps you needed to find another location for testing. I have also bern tested in Huaqiangbei, and no issues with the waiting time, which was also very quick. So are you Eric from Crossing China?

I will let you into a secret. The U.S. is sponsoring many YouTube influencers, through the NED, by the State Department, to ramp up the negative rhetoric. I am retired and live in China, and i loathe the absolute rubbish i see, including those who refer to the CCP, which is nonexistent. There is only the CPC which is short for the Communist Party of China. You see, there is no "Chinese" in the name, which is another western creation, another dig at China. I can assure you that western disinformation about China far outways anything i have seen from the people of China or even from YouTube creators on China disseminating positive information. So tell me why this is so? There may be some people who are paid as part of the so called 50 cent army, but i have never met one.

@JK_JK_JK all i can say is that the term can be applied equally to all those employed by the west, although there is likely to be some disparity in payments. As for me, i am too honest to accept payment for my commentary for what i believe to be blatant lies. I am very much in agreement with the policy in China to deal with misinformation, which probably ought to be looked at for serious breeches by western nations. It is illegal to disseminate misinformation on the net in China. Such laws have the potential to return repute to what may be read on the internet.

@Poetic_Justice_YC let's get something clear, i live in China, do not get a salary, do not work either for an employer or myself, have no priority on healthcare, and neither get treated or have expectations of being treated any differently to the local people. At times, when there are health issues such as a pandemic requiring vaccination, as a foreigner i have the lowest priority. That is my real experience.
