  2.  @wj5643 , I paid a little over a hundred bucks for mine and installed it myself. It didn't destroy my bank account. ...and if you're referring to the wasted water, that may be an extra five to ten bucks a month, if that. Small price to pay for the purest water you can get and far less than the inferior options you can purchase for a lot more.

  4.  @jstud999 , and Einstein, I've had a 5 stage RO for eight years now and zero problems with my plumbing in a house that was built in 1993. Keep believing everything you read on the internet. Enjoy your Tide pods.

  5. A 5 stage reverse osmosis filter is cheap ($100-$150), effective, and should always be installed on any water source to ensure the highest quality water possible. It's a real no brainer. Sadly, a lot of people are intellectually anemic.
