@annchabassol5804 , it was indeed sold back to them for a dollar. The ten million is what we initially paid for the lease for the land.

@archer159 , they agreed to the $10 million dollar lease and $250,000 a year thereafter. It's not abuse. It's called being a better deal maker. Manhattan was the better deal for beads and trinkets though.

@Ericshadowblade , we were leasing the land. The US never owned that land.

@annchabassol5804 , that's what we paid them to initially lease the land and $250,000 a year until it was transferred back for a single dollar under the Torrijos–Carter treaty.

@rogeredmunds5806 , let's just start with the first legislation he enacted which was a tax on tanning. That would be like Trump getting into office and making a tax on watermelon and fried chicken his first piece of legislation. It was all downhill from there.
