Now you know how a lot of people feel about non-Apple products when they make the switch. Apple's not forcing you to do anything their way, any more or less than the platforms you've learned how to use are forcing you to do anything THEIR way.
So basically, you've got an issue with Apple software because you're just not used to it. Apple fans like myself experienced this when there was a move from the older OS to OS X. We had to learn how to do things differently, and when we did, we realized that it was still a much more refined experience than the software available on other systems.
That's not to say it isn't without its frustrations, but as a person who uses unix, windows, android, and a multitude of other software/hardware devices, I can honestly say I've lost less hair to pulling with Apple solutions than I have with any of the other options out there.
...but seriously, Apple sucks. Don't buy their products. Perhaps if they sell fewer of them, I'll be able to pay less for mine. :D
