  1. I lived in the UK for a long time (26 years) and loved the NHS as there is now cost outside of your taxes which you don’t notice. After being back in Australia for over 4 years now, I gotta say I prefer the NHS but only cause I’m not sure if I’m gonna have to pay for something in Australia. So far so good. I was diagnosed with diabetes 18 months ago and was put on medication, the first 6 months I had 2 kinds and since then just one type. First 6 months was $40 per 28 days and $6.50 per 50 days (packet sizes for meds) and after that initial 6 months I’m down to $6.50 every 50 days and that all the expenses I had to make. My doctors is walk in only and I’ve not had to wait more than 15 mins to be seen. When I need my quarterly blood tests done I go down and they give me but of paper to hand in to the dr when I come back to get my test done. Or I can take it directly to the pathology lab and have it done there. Within 2 days my results are back. So basically I’m pretty happy with Aussie health care. Sorry long long message to say it’s all good 👍🏻
