  1. I’m a casual employee here in Australia so I don’t get paid holidays,vacations or sick days but I get what’s called casual loading. Australia has a federal minimum wage but there is award rates for jobs. The minimum is like $19 per hour but awards rate could take it to $25. For what i do “traffic controller “ the award rate is $25 per hour I think but I get a 20% loading so it’s $30. I like the extra but it would be nice to get holiday pay. Most construction shuts down in Australia for 2 weeks over the Christmas/new year period so it’s no pay for that time… which sucks but I’m getting used to paying extra rent from September onwards and saving enough to keep me going. I guess everywhere is different. The UK is 28 days paid for full time employees but your not entitled for extra to work public holidays or Xmas and New Years.

  2.  @julesmasseffectmusic  they still get some for sure. Up till 2 weeks ago I hadn’t got much, but I copped it all day in Windsor NSW as we were detouring people around flood waters.
