I suggest you lookup the book "Yankee Samurai" as well. It mentioned that US intelligence established comm intercept operation as early as 1940. It included Nisai. There was a great deal more than we know. I often wonder if the internment of the West Coast Jap a nese and their families was as much to hide that we were using them.
