  1. Sorry no evidence of the Pilgrims resorting to cannibalism; however, the colony at Jamestown shows some evidence; and it not Plymouth was the first British colony in what is the US today. The actual first (and unsuccessful) British colony was Roanoke; however, the Spanish had colonists in Florida well before Roanoke. So please learn some real history before spouting out misinformation.

  2. This like some refusing to believe the Aztecs actually practiced religious cannibalism of their enemies. A few years ago, archeologists found proof of a Spanish story of a lost convoy and canabalism as well. Still not liked. I remember my first trip to California and reading a roadside sign discussung a Navaho legend of cannibals who lived in caves. Years later the signs are gone.

I forgot to add that one of the problems at Jamestown was essentially an communistic system where all food was shared; which meant those who didn't work to produce food lived off the rest, since most were looking for gold that meant little food was produced. That system ended during the next year. Communism is like that, a few who actually produce and the many who pursue goal that are unproductive live off the rest. Communism also has another trait, after destroying the old elite, a new one the party leaders arises. In the old days "Animal Farm" was required reading, written by Orwell,hb who went to Spain a committed socialist, came back anything but a socialist.
