Sorry, I was in the military, and yes in combat or the field conditions could be poor; but this wasn't combat or a field exercise. There were at least heated facilities that could have been utilized. This is an example of how things will be done under the "sensitive" and "caring" progressives.

@johnphillips1345 What did you miss? I didn't say anything about former President Trump, or him saving anyone. I was pointing out that the treatment of troops in a non-combat and non-field situation inside the US doesn't match what I saw. You seem to have former President Trump on the mind. By the way how long did serve? I served for twelve years, including time in Thailand 5 miles from Laos where the entertainment was watching the fighting across the river. My last duty was Emergency Planning and Response including NBC reconnaissance and monitoring.

@jamesbaxterandthebeachball7005 I agree that sometimes the short and smelling end of the stick; but usually planned operations (outside of field exercises) have some degree of care. I spent three anniversaries as part of AFFOR Headquarters, these were field exercises, and while in the field at least tents and facilities were provided. A planned deployment in a major US city should have some large facilities that could have provided heated space.

@kxlroi4031 As I said, under combat or field combat exercises conditions would be poor, and probably were. This deployment in the states should have at least opened gymnasiums, sports arenas or arsenals as sleeping spaces. The cost would have been minimal and conditions better than garages. There used to be mobility packages that could have provided cots at least. An adult doing the planning is what seems to have been lacking.
