  1. They actually, phrased it with an escape clause which the media didn't cover. By their phrasing, that escape clause was intended to protect them when then truth came out.

  2. Even if the FBI statement is true, it provides at least the appearance of impropriety. Something that most Federal agencies prohibit. Perhaps why even if t here is now there there about the releases, their actions were stupid, when they hid them.
