@januarysson5633 In an ideal world, we would have some balance; however, one of our political parties gives mouth service to Constitutional Rights, and the other has sat back and let that one propagandize them into minority status at least in one House or the other constantly. While this system of Government works well as long as party ideology doesn't run things; the direct election of Senator (changed in 1913 if I remembet) changed that. Before that change the Senate was to represent the long term interests of their state and the nation; not the current political ideology of any group.

@colreb7149 No matter who picks them, the entire Senate has approve them, so there are checks.

Why should Texas keep them and have to pay to support them when it is the Federal Government creates the issue.

No matter how much is done in the House the Sdnate and the President both have to approve it. We should be using the votes to identify those voting against the US's interests and ensuring their defeat in the next election. I suspect that the Democrats that are voting down things include a number more interested in staying in office than an ideology; these will be the votes that we need to get the 2/3's needed to override a veto or have veto proof majority.

You are wrong. The barbarians are already inside the gates.

WHY, the odds of getting an unbiased judge increase with a Trump appointee. The odds of a fair Democrat judge between 6 or 9 to 1D0. The odds of a fair hearing with a Trump appointee are closer 5 out of 10 . The difference between activist law and Constitutional lzw.

This man seems little better than our current stumbling President.

I doubt he is a mob boss, he is more like von Hindenberg to Hitler, a useful face to hide behind. The question is who is hiding behind him to gain the reins of power.

Nice semi-informed item on cluster bombs, ours will blow up by themselves after a set period of time. The originals (and to my knowledge the Russian one) stayed there capable of exploding years later.
1
@DeadlyPlatypus To my knowledge (which could be wrong), we took the original ones out of the inventory years ago. I can't speak for. Other nations, except to say that the Russians usually hold onto older equipment and munitions longer than the US.

@DeadlyPlatypus The Air Force dropped cluster munitions in South East Asia during the Second Indochinese War (popularly the Viet Nam War). The linger explosions of these were the reason for treaties about them. While not not assigned to the units most likely to drop them, I know of their use from material at the Air Ground Operations School that used to be at Hurlburt Field.

@DeadlyPlatypus Sorry. I misunderstood your post. I was aware of the SEA use and already was out by 2003, also I spent most of my time with the 1sf SOW, 56th SOW the Electronic Security Command so I remember weapons types but often not their designation.
1
@DeadlyPlatypus Well aware of the targeting functions; general Information about it was part of AGOS Courses. Part of my last duties included recon into aircraft crash sites among other things.

A medical disability may or not be permanent; however, until he completes recovery his fitness for office is in doubt. I have had a stroke, it took nearly a full year to regain mobility for my leg that was affected. I was lucky and had no cognitive or speech issue. Fetterman should have withdrawn until he recovered as far as he could and than evauated running at a later date based on the remaining deficits and the nature of the job as Senator. That isn't abilist; it only recognizes that some deficits rule out some employment. In my case, I can walk reasonably well, but muscle deficits make it impossible to turn or jump. Obviously, a marathon or gymnastics are not in my future. Fetters should face his future based on the deficits verses the jobs requirement.

When in the clip President Biden said that former President Trump was using all the powers of the President to go after him; I believe that Biden already was President; so what powers were those?
1
They were doing that kind of edited footage for years.

The unrecognized danger is that the same people who voted to reduce the police have gotten the public to accept a police state. The fear that they would than hire BLM and Antifa as the new political police. If you look at other nations, this type of thing has happened before. We need to rehire, but we need 5o watch it.
