Please read "War Without Mercy". While parts of this is fairer than most, this book covers the March better than most. The treatment of the prisoners was much more complex than this presentation. Among things to be noted was that lack of discipline among the prisoners ruined much of the water and food provided (inadequate to begin with since more prisoners were taken then the Japanese expected) with the first troops to arrive 3a5ing and drinking what they could get and spilling and ruining much of the remainder. Japanese treatment of the prisoners by passing units varied from good to bad (possibly relating to their combat experience or lack of it). None of this justified Japanese misconduct, but it does place it in perspective. Z last point is that surrender under Japanese military law made a surrendering Japanese soldier a military criminal; many of the Japanese treated US and Fillipino soldiers as criminals as a result, a cultural issue that also needs to be considered.

A lot of details don't match details from the trial. A major ones were that the agents swore in court that Weaver was involved in a bank robbery. The dog was shot before the favor and son came out. That the Feds shot first. So, perjury, entrapment, and Government misconduct were all present.

I left out a detail, when I said at the agents swore in court that he was involved in a bank robbery, it was to obtain equipment and clearance for the raid. Normally, no raid for the type of weapons charge involved. They needed a serious offense. This information did come out in the trial; however, the agents who perjured themselves to get the warrant that started this tragedy weren't charged for perjury. Also, the sniper that killed the wife was operating under new rules of engagement; and no one was ever officially named as authorizing them. Additionally, it was claimed that she had been made a priority target since it was felt that she actually causing her husband's resistance. There was a copy of the Congressional hearings on Waco that was 9n YouTube. If you can find it, there are things brought up there with evidence that makes the official narrative suspect, and you will recognize some of the Dems that ignored those issues and pushed the narrative that was officially stated. By the way, one of the reasons for that raid was to protect the children of the cult; however, the ATF and DOJ had no legal authority for child protection actions.

In Spain, remember the Moslems did the same to Christians who claimed to have converted to Islam. Why the Spanish inquestion was so much worse. The lack of awareness of what the Moslems did is part of the Protestant dislike of the Catholic Church.. Were there abuses and criminal acts, yes. Was this something that should have occurred, no.
