I guess that this video maker doesn't really know history. Before the invasion of Poland Germany had made a treaty with Stalin's Soviet Union, the agreement was made to split Poland and give the Soviet's most of Eastern Europe, think the Winter War against Finland and invasions of the three Baltic states. So, in my estimation the Soviets started the war in a loose alliance that divided Europe into spheres of influence. It is very interesting that the Soviets got most it wanted from Germany from the Allies. To me Russia played both ends against the other. As anyone's ally, the Soviets weren't trust worthy. Also remember Soviet armies were located in locations where they could start an attack, and the border defenses removed, so was Stalin planning a stab in the back but was double crossed first.
